What is ThermaVein?

ThermaVein Candidates
Individuals of all skin types who would like to eliminate small veins on their face or lower limbs can often benefit from this treatment. However, if you are pregnant, have a pacemaker, or have been diagnosed with epilepsy you should not receive this treatment. The best way to determine if you are a good candidate is to schedule a consultation appointment at our office.
The ThermaVein Treatment
The ThermaVein treatment uses a process known as Thermocoagulation. During treatment, a probe is moved along the top of the vein and is gently pressed down every one to two millimeters, delivering a pulse of energy. This energy seals the vein shut, which hinders blood from moving through the vein. This results in the natural breakdown of the vein within the body over time. Treatment is quick, taking as little as 15 minutes to complete.
What to Expect Following ThermaVein Treatment
Following your ThermaVein treatment, you may experience mild redness and swelling, which should resolve over the next couple of hours. We advise that you void direct sun exposure for 1-2 weeks while continuing to wear sunscreen daily. Small micro-crusts may form as the skin heals but will fall off within one week. Some patients may need a series of treatments to obtain optimal results. Treatments on the face can be repeated after four weeks, and on the body after six weeks.
